The way it can capture a moment, or a place or an environment .. Images are also an amazing prompt for memories .. taking you to that place …

Photography is a great way to keep a record of any interesting things I see when I go snorkelling or diving, and it’s also a good way of being able to share a bit of that experience with other people. My mum would never go diving for example, but I can go with my camera and show her all the cool things that are down there!

I’m fascinated by the way that photography can give us an insight into the photographer’s perspective on the world around them. They say a photograph never lies, but perhaps photographers sometimes do!

Photos capture a moment in time, and can show the wider impacts of the work you are doing! There is a photo competition run the humanitarian shelter sector every year, that shows how shelter and housing impacts communities, and the pictures are always really good. You can see some of them here http://shelterprojects.org/images.html

I love trying to capture what I’m feeling when I take a photo, such as the light and colour of the sky, or something I find really interesting, such as a bird.
