About Me:
I live in London. I love being outside. I’ve just come back from a trip to NZ (it’s where my partner is from). It was amazing.

My Work:
I work at the Royal Geographical Society. Before that I taught Geography in a university in the USA.
I work with geographers across a huge range of sectors and at different careers stages β students, academics, early and more senior professionals – working on the environment, risk, inequality, finance, international developing, mapping and much more.
So I get to hear a lot about what employers want and how people make career choices β going to university or not. Β

My Typical Day:
My job is great because it is really varied – there’s no typical day. I usually start about 830 and work through until about 5. I might be in meetings, responding to emails, writing reports, giving presentations. I spend lots of time talking to people, making connections.Β I work with students, with academics and with professionals.

What I'd do with the prize money:
I’d add it to the fund we have at the Society to support summer interns. Internships are a great way to learn more about a field and get direct experience. They really help develop skills and give insights into what you find rewarding (and what you don’t want to do).

What did you want to be after you left school?
Honestly, I didn't know. I did know that I really enjoyed geography.
Were you ever in trouble at school?
Generally not ... :)
If you weren't doing this job, what would you choose instead?
Interesting question. There are jobs today that didn't exist when I finished school which would be great - particularly around climate change, sustainability and green futures.
Who is your favourite singer or band?
Katie Lang
What's your favourite food?
Toast (honestly!)
If you had 3 wishes for yourself what would they be? - be honest!
Be taller, be younger, be more outgoing ...
