I live in Durham.
Outside of work I am an Explorer Scout Leader.
I’m a huge fan of the outdoors. A long hike with a good view and a flask of tea is always ideal!

My Work:
I work for a housing association providing geographical data analysis presented on easy to read maps. We use maps to show colleagues where we own houses and land, and hotspot data. We map out our communities & the effect of environmental change in the areas we work.

My Typical Day:
Fueled by a banana and cup of coffee for breakfast I start my day at 7:30am
I usually run through email requests first thing before getting on with a wider project task.
This week I am looking at census 2021 data and mapping this out for our community teams. The results of the census have only recently been released so it is very exciting to view these on a map and look for geographical patterns.
I finish my day at around 3:30-4pm (always love an early finish) and head out for a run before having something nice for tea.

What did you want to be after you left school?
Ecologist or conservationist
Were you ever in trouble at school?
I was never in trouble at school, I was very quiet and didn't have much confidence.
If you weren't doing this job, what would you choose instead?
I eventually want to have an environmental role. I’m passionate about doing what I can to reduce my impact on the environment. Having studied Ecology at university it is great to be able to be back involved in the environment side of things.
