Question: What influences have you been exposed to?

When I was in university I had the chance to go to Chicago for a study abroad year, and there I met lots of people working in poor communities in the city who really inspired me to try to work in community development projects. Since then, I am inspired by the people around me all the time, both those people working in the shelter and humanitarian sector and also just people responding to disasters in their own communities. It’s a very emotional and inspirational job!

David Attenborough is also a big inspiration because he’s so passionate about the world, but I also think the most inspirational people are often all around us.
