George Foden answered on 28 Feb 2023:
Every day you learn something new! Because every situation, every disaster, and every community is different, there is no simple answer to how you should provide help to people rebuilding their homes after a disaster. That means that each new project you get involved with you have to learn the important factors about the affected people and how they want to respond. It can be very challenging and sometimes you don’t get things right, but that means you should learn from what worked and what didn’t work and try to do better next time, so you are constantly learning and developing.

I love how varied and creative it is every day. I am always thinking about new ways we research topics spanning environmental, culture and society, and how my work can be exciting and impactful. But beyond that, I am always learning new things, and feeling that I am contributing to something to meaningful.
