It can be a lot of work, but if you enjoy it it doesn’t have to be too hard. You need to make sure you are very interested in the topics you are studying and that you want to research a lot into the area you are working on, but if you are passionate about the subject then you can find a job that’s really interesting and lets you explore your own interests.
I started working in the charity sector in a voluntary way, and I am still involved as a voluntary trustee with a charity that supports a school in India. That was really good for getting hands on experience of how charities work and to learn what it’s like to be responsible for projects overseas, and eventually I even got to travel to India thanks to that voluntary work that I started when I was at school. It’s good to get hands on experience if you can, as this shows you are interested and passionate, and teaches you things you can’t learn just from studying or reading about your area of interest.
